How to troubleshoot an aircraft missing from the hangar

There are several reasons why an aircraft or several aircraft might suddenly "disappear" from the hangar. If the package shows up as "installed" and "up to date" in the content manager, start from the top and work your way through the list below.

1

RESTART ONLINE FUNCTIONALITY

  1. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator.
  2. Go to Options > General > Data
  3. Toggle Online Functionality OFF
  4. Click on Apply & Save
  5. Toggle Online Functionality ON
  6. Click on Apply & Save
2

FORCE THE REGISTRATION

  1. Close Microsoft Flight Simulator
  2. Navigate to the DCE folder. Depending on your version this folder is nested by default inside the following folders:
    • MICROSOFT STORE VERSION: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
    • STEAM VERSION: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator

TEST FOR CONFLICTS

  1. Close Microsoft Flight Simulator
  2. Navigate to your installation folder
  3. Rename the 'Community' folder into 'TestCommunity'
  4. Create a new empty 'Community' folder in its place
  5. Move the folder of the aircraft missing from the hangar from the 'TestCommunity' to the 'Community' folder
  6. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator
  7. If the aircraft reappeared in the hangar, move your mods one by one back to the 'Community' folder until you find the package responsible for the issue
  8. Restart MSFS between each move operation
